The global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had a significant impact on everyone’s lives. Our ‘normal’ has been redefined, our routines remodeled, and our ways of life challenged. Many businesses across Europe, including our clubs, have temporarily closed their doors.
These are unprecedented times. However, we see this as an opportunity to proactively engage with members through other mediums to support them in maintaining their fitness activities.
Curves in your home
In this time of social distancing, Curves, Fitness for Women, aims to support women and their fitness needs via online channels. We understand the challenges that come with having to balance work and home life all under one roof, and we want to make sure all of our members keep a bit of normality by offering new ways to stay active.
“If you can’t come to the club, Your Curves club will come to you!“
All across Europe, our Curves franchisees are providing moral and physical support to all their members, with:
- Positive messages through social media
- Coaches making themselves available for advice over the phone or messaging
- Online daily exercise classes
- Live lessons on Facebook
- Video classes to watch in replay
- Video classes to access on Youtube
- One-on-one sessions
- Exercise sheets to do at home
- Healthy recipes
- Activities to do with children and family
- Curves Boardgame
and so much more!
Each club runs its social media accounts to include engaging and accessible content useful not only for members but for the whole local community it serves. The exercise programmes shared last up to 30 minutes combining cardio, muscle strengthening, and stretching mirroring the Curves circuit concept. Clubs are ready and available to answer questions and comments from internet users: an online service very similar to what we offer in our Curves clubs (30 minutes full body working combining cardio and strength training that allows you to burn up to 500 calories per session, and personalised coaching included)
Curves are offering women around the world the opportunity to stay active and part of a community where humour and kindness reign during this challenging period. On the Curves UK national Facebook page members and franchisees can also find a range of specialised content that brings expert opinions and fresh ideas to cope with social distancing.
Let's be Active at Home
During this difficult time, the fitness sector continues to proactively benefit the health of women through maintaining them physically active no matter where they are. For these reasons Europe Active has renamed their 2020 campaign to "Lets be Active at Home".
