Curves Inverness: Gym and Fitness Club for Women

Sport and fitness have always been part of my life. I played every sport I could—hockey, netball, athletics—and spent nine years in the Army, representing the Armed Forces in netball and athletics. But I truly understood the power of movement when I faced my biggest challenge—breast cancer.
In March 2020, just before lockdown, I had a mastectomy. With everything shutting down, I relied on my faith, knowledge, and experience to guide my recovery. I held onto the belief that every challenge has a purpose and found strength in knowing I wasn’t alone.
That’s why Curves means so much to me. It’s more than a workout—it’s a place where women regain strength, feel supported, and lift each other up. No one has to do it alone.
As the Curves Inverness franchisee, I bring my experience—from sport, the military, and my own journey—to help women feel strong, capable, and empowered.

Not the kind of gym I expected so was very happily surprised Women only and a circuit of hydrological resustence so no messing around setting machines to correct resistance or weight for yourself after the previous use You just get right on with your routine! I'm no fitness fanatic or as young as I look but Curves caters for all ages & abilities while helping me reach my personal targets Upbeat music and excellent well informed staff Almost like having a one to one every visit! Will be continuing here as for the first time going to the gym is no longer a chore but something to look forward to

I love Curves. It's the best gym I've ever been to and it's the only one I have ever stuck too. The ladies who work there are so friendly and keep you motivated. Such a fun relaxed atmosphere for a workout. Only take half an hour which is great! I have bad knees and this workout has helped me so much I dont get any pain anymore

As a woman, if you feel like you don't belong in a gym, go to Curves Inverness. Full of really friendly members, so you can go on your own and never feel awkward. Amazing coaches who will encourage you to become the best version of yourself. They say every 30 minutes, another woman walks out stronger than they were when they walked in. Both physically and mentally, this could not be more true.

Brilliant start to each day! Great atmosphere - all the staff are really friendly, helpful and encouraging and great fun with the regular faces each morning. No pressure or embarrassment as in some gyms I've been a member at, just lots of encouragement for self-motivation. Would recommend Curves Inverness to anyone of any age. - Chris York (not John!)

I joined Curves, Inverness just over 2 years ago after a recommendation from a friend at work. Previously I'd been a member of 3 different gyms over a number of years and not stuck with any of them. I found Curves different. I actually WANT to go to the gym these days! I aim to attend at least 3 times a week but some weeks I'm there up to 5 times. I like the fact that I can leave home, do my work out and be back in an hour. Great. The coaching staff are all very friendly and encouraging. I feel stronger, have more energy and my posture has improved since joining. Every Curves member is known by name from the word go and you are made to feel welcome and valued. I'm so glad I joined a women's only gym.
FAQ

Got questions about your Curves fitness club? We've got answers

A women-only environment removes the self-consciousness that often comes with mixed-sex gyms. At Curves, there are no mirrors, no judgement and no distractions, just a supportive community built around women’s bodies, women’s goals and women’s lives. Every aspect of the programme, from the equipment to the coaching, is designed specifically for female physiology. That expertise is what makes the difference.

The Curves circuit combines strength training and cardio in a single 30-minute session. This approach builds lean muscle, supports cardiovascular health and helps maintain bone density, benefits that matter at every age but become increasingly valuable over time. Every machine adapts to your individual effort level, so each workout is effective whether it is your first session or your hundredth.

Curves welcomes women from their late teens through to their 80s and beyond. The programme is designed to adapt to every stage of life, from building early fitness habits to staying strong and mobile through menopause and into retirement. There is no upper age limit, because strength and wellbeing matter at every age.

Curves was built for all fitness levels. A coach is present at every session to guide you through each machine, correct your form and adjust the intensity to your current abilities. You do not need any prior experience or fitness background. Every member starts somewhere, and the whole programme is designed to meet you there.

Most members notice real changes within a few weeks, including better energy, improved strengthbetter sleep quality and a more positive mood. Visible physical results typically follow with consistent attendance of two to three sessions per week. Progress looks different for everyone, but with a coach supporting each visit and a structured programme to follow, results are measurable and steady.

Curves clubs offer structured circuit sessions throughout the day, so there is plenty of choice to fit around work, family and daily life. Because each session takes just 30 minutes, it is easy to fit exercise into a busy schedule, whether before work, during a lunch break or on the way home. Speak to your coach to find the session times that work best for you.
