Turkey Muffin Burgers in Pita Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • ½ bell pepper

  • ½ celery stick

  • ½ onion

  • 500g Turkey Mince

  • 1 egg

  • 45g Oats

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/5 tsp cumin

  • Salt – to taste

Directions: 

1. Preheat your oven to 190 degrees C

2. In a bowl mix together the spices and then the oats

3. Add the mince and mix well before adding in the chopped vegetables, egg and mix well again

4. Using your hands, roll the mixture into 6 balls and pop them into a muffin tray ( Silicone or regular muffin tray greased-you could you spray oil for this)

5. Bake for 40 minutes before popping them on kitchen paper for a couple of minutes (to soak up any excess juices)

6. Serve 2 turkey muffins in a pita pocket with salad or free veg OR alternatively slice them up & add to a tomato sauce to serve with pasta! Store in the fridge or enjoy immediately!
